BJK Industries – Our History

Reuben founded BJK Industries on the philosophy that

“Our customers would receive more than a high quality product; they would receive a company committed to their success.”

While working as the number two man at Winnebago in the late 1960s, the entrepreneurial Reuben Krein experienced his first innovative solution. Reuben developed the process by which a material, later dubbed silk film, was used in conjunction with a machine to speed up production of cushioned seats for the RV industry. Foam padding was placed in a wire frame which was then covered by the silk film. The film allowed a vacuum to be pulled compressing the foam so the seat cover material could be slid over the foam and frame with minimal effort. Once the vacuum was released, the foam expanded to its normal size and a cushioned seat was ready for installation.

In 1977, with permission from Winnebago, a United States Patent to his credit, and realizing an opportunity for his process in the auto, marine, and furniture markets, Reuben founded BJK Industries on the philosophy that; Our customers would receive more than a high quality product; they would receive a company committed to their success.

Following his father’s founding principle, Reuben’s son Brian has grown BJK Flexible Packaging into a prominent manufacturer by providing top quality products, innovative thinking, and exceptional customer service to our customers. In doing so, BJK has never lost sight of the fact that we are who we are because of the trust placed in us by our customers.
